AI travel agent with human support: how Cura's advisor check works

Written by a Cura travel advisor · Checked

Short answer

Cura is an AI travel agent with human support. The AI builds your door-to-door plan, compares flights and stays side by side and tells you what it would pick and why. A human advisor then checks the plan and steps in when the AI is not enough: a visa question, a tight connection, a booking that looks right on paper but is wrong on the ground.

Want this trip planned and booked for you? Tell Cura where and when.

AI trip planners are fast and confident. They are also sometimes wrong in ways you only find out at the airport or the hotel desk: a guesthouse that no longer exists, a connection that is legal but tight, a visa date that a check-in agent might misread. That is the gap a person closes.

Cura is an AI + human travel agent. The AI does the heavy lifting on research and options. A human advisor reads the plan the way a well-travelled friend would, and asks the questions the AI did not.

How does the human advisor check work?

It sits between the AI's draft and your booking.

  1. You tell Cura the trip. Type it, say it, or send a reel you saved. Add dates, budget and who is going.
  2. The AI builds the plan. A door-to-door plan, with flights and stays compared side by side and a clear pick with the reason for it. It uses what it remembers about how you travel (seat, food, pace).
  3. A human advisor checks it. and fixes or flags anything that does not hold up.
  4. You approve, and the advisor stays on the thread. If something changes before or during the trip, Cura keeps up and a person steps in when it needs judgement.

An example: what the check caught on a real request

Example from a real request, anonymised. Two friends from Bengaluru asked for a long weekend in Hampi in September. Their wishlist: a hut on "Hippie Island", surfing, cliff jumping at Sanapur, plus three temples and viewpoints.

An AI planner would happily put all six on an itinerary. The advisor check found that three of them did not survive contact with reality:

  • The island stays are gone. The Supreme Court upheld the demolition of unauthorised guesthouses on Virupapura Gaddi in 2020. Listings still show up online with old reviews. We told them not to book anything claiming to be on the island.
  • There is no surfing in Hampi. What they had seen on Instagram was almost certainly coracle spinning, a round basket boat spun in an eddy. We swapped it in, as a hope-for that depends on the river level.
  • Cliff jumping was a no. Unreadable water depth in September, no lifeguards, and a police advisory to avoid isolated riverside spots after dark following a serious attack on tourists near Sanapur in 2025.

The three that did survive (Vittala Temple, Anjanadri Hill, Chintamani Cave) went into a plan built around their own answers: slow mornings and gaps in the day. The full story is on the Hampi trip page.
